The Ateneo Blue Eagles successfully got their back-to-back championship title as they dominated the Game 2 of UAAP 81 Men’s Basketball Finals against UP Fighting Maroons. KAMI learned that the season ended with 99-81 score as Ateneo’s Thirdy Ravena led the game.

Ravena finished off with career-high 38 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists as reported by Rappler. Ravena was awarded as the Finals MVP. The Blue Eagles won in two games in the best-of-three title series.

Blue Eagles’ Angelo Kouame was named as the Rookie of the Year. He contributed 22 points in the game.

Before the game, there has been a conflict regarding the Fighting Maroons player Bright Akhuetie. According to the rule book, a player cannot join the game if there is any equipment worn that may cause injury to other players. This lead Akhuetie to remove his knee brace and started the game.

This has been the last game of Fighting Maroons players Gelo Vito, Paul Desiderio, Jarrel Lim, Diego Darrio, and JJ Espanola as they are about to graduate from the University of the Philippines.

The UAAP Finals was star-studded, even known politicians were present to witness the much anticipated game.
