- Actress Jessy Mendiola promptly revealed why she is not as active as before in showbiz
- The celebrity said she received a memorandum from the management
- Jessy also experienced a mental health problem which is depression
Kapamilya actress Jessy Mendiola finally shared to public the real reason why she does not appear on television as often as she used to.
KAMI learned that the reason was connected to a memorandum she received from the management.
Jessy expressed that her hiatus in showbiz is because she suddenly gained weight which was immediately noticed by the bosses.
However, the actress cleared that she understands how the management reacted to the sudden changes because celebrities are expected to stay in shape.
"Hindi naman ako nawala. It's just nag lay low lang ako ng very light kasi nga nagkaroon ng weight gain. Nakatanggap ako ng fat memo. It's a proof na you can't get work if you gain weight,” she quipped in a media interview.
“That's how society works. Pero I understand naman kasi it's part of our job to stay in shape and to look our best," she added.
Aside from the increase in her weight, Jessy also exposed that she once experienced depression that caused a lot of negative things to come into her mind.
The former Maria Mercedes star admitted that she questioned her fame and her body figure when she was undergoing the said mental health problem.
"I got very depressed. Parang dumating ako sa point na, 'Ah ito na lang pala din talaga 'yung halaga ko. Kung hindi ako sexy, wala akong projects or hindi nila ako makikita as who I am,’” she promptly explained.
“So sa mga nagsasabi na nagpapayat siya dahil nabash siya, it's not [true]. I wanted to feel good. So I started being healthy. Add-on na lang 'yung pagpapayat," she added.
In a previous article by KAMI, the actress’ boyfriend Luis Manzano got heated once again while being protective of his partner.
Jessy, or Jessica Mendiola Tawile in real life, was born on December 3, 1992. She is set to return to the big screen through her upcoming movie, “The Girl In The Orange Dress” which will be shown on December 25.
