Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio formalized their alliance for the upcoming election in 2019. KAMI learned that the Presidential daughter’s political party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and Estrada’s Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) will be working together.
The head of both political parties have signed an oath of alliance at the San Andres Gymnasium in Malate, Manila as reported by GMA News.
“The alliance that we form recognizes our intention to cooperate and unite on behalf of our parties for the benefit of all,” Estrada stated as reported by Inquirer.
The former Philippine President also shared that he is hopeful for the safety of the Filipinos.
“Naniniwala tayong lahat na ang bawat Pilipino ay may karapatang mamumuhay nang maligaya, ligtas, at may dignidad,” Estrada said.
“Karapatan ng mamayang Pilipino na mamuhay ng may pag-asa – pagasa para sa lahat,” he added.
As previously reported by KAMI, Duterte-Carpio filed her certificate of candidacy to seek re-lection in Davao. Meanwhile, Estrada supported his son Jinggoy Estrada when he filed for his COC to join the Senate bid.
