- Senator Antonio Trillanes was allowed by Makati court to travel abroad
- The senator will be leaving the country to travel to United States and Europe
- According to the Makati court, Trillanes is “not a flight risk”
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV can now travel to Europe and United States as Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 under Judge Elmo Alemda has allowed him.
KAMI learned that according to the court, Trillanes is not a “flight risk” as reported by Inquirer.
“As shown by his past actions, he voluntarily surrendered and posted bail in this case immediately upon service of the warrant for his arrest and that he has always returned to this country in those instances where he was permitted by the courts to travel abroad. Foremost is that, he is not a flight risk,” as stated in the decision.
The Court ordered Trillanes to pay a P200,000 travel bond.
Senator Trillanes asked permission from the Makati court to travel to Europe and US from December 11, 2018 to January 12, 2019 as well as on January 27 to February 10, 2019.
As reported by KAMI before, the RTC Makati Branch 150 was the one who issued a warrant of arrest and hold departure order to Trillanes for his rebellion case.
He also posted a bond of P200,000 as soon as the decision came out.
