According to Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, the Senate suspended a session because the senators were “watching the super exciting game”.
“Senate suspends session as the leadership, from the Senate President to the minority and majority floor leaders and several UP senators, [are] watching the super exciting game,” said Zubiri.
Zubiri also extended his greetings to his alma mater.
“Congrats to my alma mater in getting into the finals of [the] UAAP basketball championships,” he said.
There are 11 senators who graduated from the University of the Philippines as of now.
The Up Fighting Maroons defeated the Soaring Falcons of Adamson University, 89-87, making them advance to the UAAP Finals after 32 years in the making.
The Fighting Maroons will be facing the Ateneo de Manila University for the first game of UAAP Finals on December 1 (Saturday).
