President Rodrigo Duterte led the inauguration of Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA), the first ever ‘eco-airport’ in the Philippines. KAMI learned that President Duterte unveiled the BPIA marker and checked out the terminal building.
Known as the ‘Green Gateway to the World’, the new airport has solar technology for the hot water supply system that prevents the production of 18 tons of carbon dioxide yearly as reported by GMA News.
In the middle of the speech of President Duterte, there was a power outage which lasted for around two minutes. The Presidential Security Group immediately surrounded the President. One member was suggesting for the President to wait in the holding area instead. However, President Duterte insisted to stay there.
The President also announced that he fired OPAPP Undersecretary Ronald Flores. He also shared that he is “sad” to accept the resignation of Peace adviser Jesus Dureza.
