- President Rodrigo Duterte renews his tirades to the Catholic Church
- He also let the public to choose on whether to support the religious people or him
- The President also urges the public to build their own chapel at home
President Rodrigo Duterte attacked the Catholic Church once again. KAMI learned that during his speech in the groundbreaking of Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project on Monday, the President urged the public to “build a chapel” in their “own house and pray there”.
“You don’t have to go to church to pay for these idiots,” the President added.
President Duterte also stated that the teachings of Catholic Church are “archaic” as reported by ABS-CBN News.
"Ang mga tao noon nomads. What do they know about the world today? Tapos pasundin niyo sa mga sinusulat ninyo? Totoo. How can people 3,000 years ago predict or project what is happening today?"
However, the President shared that he is friends with some priests while he discourages the giving of money to bishops. He also mentioned about a bishop wanting to borrow a car from the government “knowing fully well that it is corruption because there is separation of Church and state.”
"You have the balls, brave as you are, to ask for property of the government tapos magsalita kayong mga p******a ninyo, kala mo kung sino kayo,” Duterte added.
The President also accused some priests and bishops for pocketing money from those who attend mass and for asking money for some ceremonies.
“Pagka baptism bayad...pagka namatay bayad,” Duterte stated as reported by Rappler.
Duterte also let the public decide on which side are they going to choose.
“’Yung maniwala sa inyo [Catholic Church] at gusto nang walang patayan at maraming durugista, diyan kayo sa mga religious. Pero kung gusto niyo, walang durugista, patay lahat at wala naman maghohold-up sa’yo, wala naman magsaksak sa’yo, dito kayo sa’kin, sabay tayo sa impyerno,” Duterte said.
"It is not true that I said I do not believe in God. I was answering to an incessant attack na demonic daw ako. Kasi diyan sa patayan,” he quipped.
“Sabi ko: 'I do not believe in your stupid God.' I have my own god, in my estimation. Hindi 'yan nangongolekta nang pera," Duterte stated.
Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country. Even before, the President had left a remark saying that “God is stupid” which drew flak to the netizens.
