For Vice President Leni Robredo, the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte should be transparent with regard to all the signed deals between Philippines and China during the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping in the country.
KAMI learned that VP Robredo wants the administration to educate the Filipinos regarding the benefits of the signed deals.
"We call on the administration to be transparent with all the bilateral agreements signed yesterday with the People's Republic of China," Robredo quipped as reported by CNN Philippines.
"The Filipino people should be informed how deals-such as the Memorandum of Understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative, the Infrastructure Cooperation Program, and, most notably, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Oil and Gas Development-will benefit our country and serve our national interest," the Vice President added.
On the other hand, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero also urge Malacañang to release information or documents about the deals most especially the signed memorandum of understanding on oil and gas development between China and Philippines.
As previously reported by KAMI, during the first day of President Xi’s state visit in the country, Philippines and China signed 29 deals including the aforementioned oil and gas development in West Philippine Sea.
