A couple of veteran actors who have worked with Coco Martin on “Ang Probinsyano” have shared their thoughts about police officials complaining about the series showing cops who are evil and corrupt.
KAMI learned that Eddie Garcia and Gina Pareño both defended and supported Coco and the show.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gina explained that the series is fictional and expressed her admiration for its lead star.
"Apo, kalma lang, kayang kaya mo 'yan at saka umaarte lang naman tayo e.
"Kasi talagang fiction lang naman talaga ang ating (kuwento) kaya naniniwala ako na mauunawan ng tao 'yan," she stated.
Eddie also talked to ABS-CBN News to talk about the show, Coco’s directing skills, and the possible changes to the series’ storylines.
"Si Coco naman nagdi-direk siya doon sa 'Probinsyano' and he's doing a very good job…
"Well nasa kanila yun 'e, sa management, wala akong pakialam, I'm just an actor there,” he explained.
Many netizens, including celebrities, have slammed the PNP for demanding the series to portray policemen in good light.
KAMI previously reported that both Coco and ABS-CBN have reiterated the disclaimer at the start of every episode, which states that all of the storylines, characters and events in the series are fictional.
