It has been reported that tropical depression Samuel has already entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). KAMI learned from ABS-CBN News that Samuel is likely to bring weak winds and heavy rains like Tropical Storm Urduja last year.
"Siguro bilang comparison kasi last year lang ito nangyari, iyung Urduja po d'yan sa may Eastern Visayas tumama. Mahina rin pong bagyo iyun, pero napakalakas ng pag-ulan na nagdulot po ng pagguho ng lupa," stated by PAGASA weather forecaster Ariel Rojas.
According to the state bureau, Samuel was at 660 kilometers East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 4 AM. It gas maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 65 kph.
Samuel is most likely to bring moderate to heavy rains in the area of Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Bohol, Southern Leyte, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental and Caraga ergion.
In addition, tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 was raised by PAGASA in:
- Surigao del Norte
- Surigao del Sur
- Agusan del Norte
- Dinagat Islands
In a report by Inquirer, Samuel is likely to make a landfall on Wednesday in Caraga region and might exit PAR on Friday.
