Wendy Valdez revealed that her son Seth is already scheduled for a hip surgery. It was early in the year when the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate opened up about Seth's medical condition.

Seth's hip bone is not in the right position, and he needs to wear braces to keep it aligned. His condition is known as spina bifida.

The first time mom was ecstatic when she shared that her son no longer needed to wear his hip brace for the whole day in August 2018.

Wendy and her husband were so happy for their son's progress but the boy's inborn condition recurred.

"IT'S OK TO CRY AND BE SAD," she said.

Wendy recounted the roller coaster of emotions she went through.

"I felt my heart pound when they were giving me the X-ray for Seth's hip. What could go wrong? We celebrated him being out of his hip brace at day time, and we are just getting another check up to be sure...

"Then they handed it to me... With so many X-rays already done to Seth's hip, I [knew] already what I [needed] to see.

"Is it in?

She was disappointed to see the x-ray film.

"I pulled the film, and my heart sank. His hip was out again.

"Apparently, when he kicks, it comes out. But when he is relaxed, it is in."

A spica casting was then recommended.

"Seth's legs would be cemented in place for 3 months, so he won't be able to move until the hip would build strong ligaments to hold it.

It broke her heart to imagine that her son would wake up not being able to move again.

"I felt down and wanted to cry.

"My baby, who is starting to roll over and sit on his own, would wake up and he won't be able to move again..

"Why wouldn't I be sad with situations like that?"

In her next post, she reflected on their hardships and decided to keep her faith intact.
