- PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde complained about the portrayal of cops on “Ang Probinsyano”
- Jasmine Curtis tweeted about her thoughts on the matter
- The actress took a swipe at the PNP for wanting a fictional TV series to make them look better to the public
PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde has been slammed by netizens for complaining about the portrayal of corrupt police officers in the Kapamilya teleserye “Ang Probinsyano” starring Coco Martin.
KAMI learned that actress Jasmine Curtis has also shared her thoughts about the controversy.
The star took to social media to take a swipe at politicians and the PNP for wanting movies and TV shows to portray them in a better light.
“First was Goyo and a politician. Now it's a TV series and the PNP.
“Authorities want tv and film to show "better" things about them...... Hah,” she tweeted.
Most netizens agreed with Jasmine’s sentiments.
However, there was one who said that the TV program should help law enforcers become better.
In response, Jasmine argued that teleseryes are not responsible for helping cops do their job.
In a previous report by KAMI, Coco Martin apologized to the PNP and reiterated the disclaimer at the start of each episode that their stories are fictional.
Coco Martin used to be an unknown indie actor before hitting it big with his popular teleseryes on ABS-CBN, which includes “Ang Probinsyano.”
The series is already in its third year, making it the longest-running teleserye on TV today. It also stars Yassi Pressman, John Prats and Susan Roces.
