- David Archuleta visits the Philippines for a benefit concert
- His presence in the country became a question if he will be a judge in Regine Velasquez' upcoming show, 'Idol Philippines'
- He said that it would be an amazing opportunity but clarified that he wasn't asked to be part of the show
The American Idol alumnus, David Archuleta is currently in the Philippines to do some shows particularly a benefit concert for the Mabuhay Deseret Foundation.
Since he is in the country, people can't help to assume that David will be part of Regine Velasquez' show 'Idol Philippines'.
In an ABS-CBN interview, David revealed that he wasn't invited by the management of the show.
"I wasn't invited. It sounds like they already have their judges, too," he disclosed.
However, the 27-year old singer-songwriter expressed his interest in the show if ever he will be given a chance to work with his friend, Asia's Song Bird, Regine.
"I think that'd be great. I mean, to have Regine as a judge, too. I mean she'll have a lot of good insight 'cause she has a lot of experience. She's one of the best singers out there - I mean anywhere. So I think it'll be interesting to see what she has to say to the contestants of the show," David said.
He also shared that if ever he will be considered to be part of the show and he's free, he will give it a shot.
"I guess if I don't already have prior commitments, I think it would be fun," he said.
David James Archuleta is the runner-up in American Idol Season 7.
He was the singer behind the songs 'Crush', 'Something 'bout Love' and 'A Little Too Not Over You'.
In 2012, Archuleta signed a contract with TV5 and became part of the mini series in the Philippines titled 'Nandito Ako'.
