University of the Philippines bounces back in UAAP Final Four after 21 years

- UP Fighting Maroons has hit another milestone

After two decades of drought, University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons reached closer to the championship. They finally entered back in the UAAP’s final four when they dominated La Salle Green Archers, 97-81.

KAMI learned that Maroons’ Juan Gomez de Liaño led the game by contributing 27 points, four assists and three rebounds. Javi Gomez de Liaño chipped in 19 points and Bright Akhuetie had 20 rebounds as reported by Rappler.

UP ended the elimination with 8-6 record, making it to top 3. On the other hand, Adamson Falcons landed in no. 2.

In a report by ABS-CBN Sports, UP last entered the UAAP men’s basketball final four back in 1997.
