- Former VP Jejomar Binay discussed about the alleged cheating that happened in 2016 elections
- He said that he should have placed at least second in the race
- Binay said that he did not file for electoral protest due to practical reasons
Former Vice President and presidential candidate Jejomar Binay alleges cheating during the 2016 elections. KAMI learned that Binay also believes that he should have been in the second place in the presidential race.
“Ang number one [na] dahilan kung bakit ako natalo ay yung cheating sa eleksyon,” Binay stated in a report by GMA News.
“Ako talaga, at the worst, [I should have been] number two,” Binay added.
However, Binay did not file for an electoral protest due to “practical reasons” like the amount he would be shedding as well as the uncertainty of winning.
In a report by Inquirer, Binay placed fourth. Sen. Grace Poe placed third and then Mar Roxas was in the second spot. President Rodrigo Duterte won the presidential race.
Few months before the 2016 election, Binay accused Roxas of cheating in the presidential race which he just shrugged off.
As previously reported by KAMI, Binay is seeking a seat in the Congress. He also filed his certificate of candidacy to run as Makati 1st District Representative.
