A woman in Mandaue City gave birth to her baby in an unexpected location – inside a police car.
KAMI learned that the delivery was done safely with the combined efforts of a policeman and a nurse.
The photos and the story were shared on the Facebook page of the MCPO Police Station 3:
“On November 12 around 11:50AM, a man called for help because his younger sister was in labor. They were on a taxi along the Basak national highway when he decided to call for police assistance due to the heavy traffic as to reach the Ouano Hospital on Lapu- Lapu City, where she had a packaged deal for her labor.
“On board the Isuzu dmax Patrol #329 was PO1 Elmer Gonzalez, mobile crew Elmor Cortez Ceniza, and NUP Nurse Josie Tejano together with the patient. On the road, the mother started complaining that the baby is about to go out, the head was already showing, and asked that she would like to push it. With the help of Josie Tejano, the baby was safely delivered inside the patrol car and was then turned over to the hospital for further monitoring and care,” the description reads.
