For those in the Philippines who were not able to catch Wicked in 2014, we have good news for you. Wicked returns to Manila in 2017. Concertus Manila, which will be presenting the show locally with Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, announced in their Facebook page that it will open on February 2 next year.  CNN Philippines reports that the original production, which is coming direct from a multi record-breaking tour of the UK and Ireland, will be in Manila for a special limited engagement as part of a major international tour.

Wicked is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman, based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which is an alternative telling of L. Frank Baum’s classic 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

In 2014, Wicked had a successful run of 42 shows in Manila with box office ticket sales. Can its 2017 re-run replicate its former success? In any case, it will still be a Wicked event.(http://www.broadway.com/shows/wicked/story/)
