In the morning of October 30, 2018 at exactly 6:45 in the morning when KAMI first heard of the news of the OPM icon Rico J. Puno has passed away.
ABS-CBN reported that a handful of hurados wanted to pay their tributes to Rico J Puno.
With so many tribute segments and videos in TV, 5 hurados decided to pay their tribute to RJP through their personal Instagram accounts.
Jaya once recalled when he first met Rico J Puno back when her mother, Elizabeth Ramsey, would bring her to shows to watch the OPM icon. This was in the 1970's.
Erik Santos reminisced that he was fortunate enough to sing some of Rico J's own music as theme songs of 2 teleseryes.
K Brosas recalls a time that they won an award together for their collab in a concert where it was totally unscripted which added to the novelty of the collaboration.
Gary Valenciano did not mince any words or talk lengthily as how he was known for. The short caption said it all.
For Yeng, it was a simple gesture of gratitude thanking him for the memories on and off camera and how all of them will truly and sincerely miss him.

Rico J. Puno started his stint in the music scene back in 1975.
He is part of the Hitmakers. The other members of the famed 70’s and 80’s group were Hajji Alejandro, Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuñiga, and Eva Eugenio.
He was the pioneer of what is now known as the Manila Sound.
