Typhoon Rosita, to head towards La Union; some areas announce class suspension for Oct. 31

- Typhoon Rosita has crossed Benguet and now on its way to La Union

- Signal no. 3 is still raised over 7 areas

- Some classes and offices in Luzon have also announced suspension

As of 1 PM, Rosita was spotted in the area of Benguet. According to PAGASA, it is now gearing towards La Union. KAMI learned that Rosita is also likely to pass by Pangasinan as reported by ABS-CBN News.

Seven areas in Luzon are still under tropical cyclone warning signal no. 3. It has maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and 230 kph gusts. PAGASA also stated that moderate to heavy rains are to pour over northern and central Luzon.

As reported by CNN Philippines as of 4:00 PM, classes are suspended for October 31 (Wednesday) in the following areas:

All levels

  • Abra
  • Apayao
  • Aguinaldo, Ifugao
  • Aurora Province
  • Angeles City, Pampanga
  • Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya
  • Baguio City
  • Batangas
  • Cagayan Province
  • Ilocos Sur
  • Isabela
  • La Union
  • Mt. Province
  • Pangasinan
  • Quirino Province

Government offices are also suspended in Baguio City, Bauang, La Union and Pangasinan. Rosita is expected to leave Philippine area of responsibility by October 31 (Wednesday) as reported by ABS-CBN News. However, it is likely to still leave rains until November 1, All Saints’ Day.

As previously reported by KAMI, Rosita has made its landfall in Isabela, dawn of Tuesday. Videos of Rosita’s onslaught were posted on social media.
