Melissa Ricks opened up about the hardships she had gone through because of her weight gain and for being a single mom to her only daughter.
The celebrity mom and Star Circle Quest alumna is now a vlogger. In a previous report, she shared a moment where she tried to hold back her tears in YT NextUp Camp where she participated along with aother YouTubers.
The actress shared that she rejected very tv guesting or work offered to her because she thought she could not do it.
She applied for the Camp and she was luckily picked to be part of it.
In one of her recent posts, the celebrity mom seemed to have fully accepted her weight gain. Clad in a teal off-shoulder dress, Melissa looks stunningly confident as she revealed her inner thoughts.
“Usually when there’s big occasions I get a bit of anxiety or nahihiya ako pumunta (I get ashamed to go),” she said. “I always find it hard to find something to wear especially that I have gained a significant amount of [weight] since giving birth.”
She used to cry upon hearing negative remarks on her body.
“Dati umiiyak ako. Some people turned me down for work, some treated me differently and would continuously tell me I should lose weight.”
She realized what matters to her most and accepted everything.
“But right now what really matters to me is my [wellbeing], my peace of mind, my happiness and my child.”
“But I have finally accepted the fact that I’m not like [what] I used to be, and that’s absolutely fine,” she declared. “I used to be so worried what others thought of me, but now I realized that I have become so much more than just my looks.”
Melissa started her showbiz career when she joined Star Circle Quest along with her batch mates Sandara Park and Hero Angeles. The actress is now fond of vlogging. Ricks is starting to make significant progress in vlogging with 31,000 subscribers and counting.
