Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, the eldest daughter of late former President Ferdinand Marcos, has filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday.
KAMI has learned from ABS-CBN News that Imee Marcos was accompanied by her son Borgy Manotoc, her brother former Senator Bongbong Marcos and her mother Imelda Marcos.
Imee Marcos is running as a senator under Nacionalista Party. This is her first time to join the Senatorial race. She filed her COC the same time with Human Rights Lawyer Chel Diokno as reported by CNN Philippines.
Diokno is the son of Jose ‘Pepe’ Diokno, one of the people that the former President Marcos had sent to prison during martial law.
As previously reported by KAMI, it was Cynthia Villar who confirmed the Senatorial run of Imee Marcos because Bongbong Marcos did not have plans to run.
