The newly-announced director of “Darna” eloquently responded to a netizen who gave his suggestion regarding the much-anticipated movie.

KAMI learned that Director Jerrold Tarog took to social media his reactions to a netizen who suggested that Liza Sobarano’s costume in the said film should not be a bikini.

The social media user, who uses the handle @lcros186, pointed out that it is millennial time already and the old version of Darna’s costume will not be appreciated by many people.

He also suggested that the director must take inspiration from the development of Wonder woman and other modern superheroes’ costumes.

"Direk gandahan po nio wag ung chippy chippy lang ha tagal nmin hinintay yan e. At pls wag padadala s dikta ng d nakakatulong s project,” @lcros186 wrote.

“At yung custume po wag nmn bikini millenial n po tayo like wonder woman nag iba n din custume sexy pero d bastusin. Praying for u po,” he added.

In response, Director Jerrold admitted that he will have to converse first with the owner of intellectual property of the Darna costume.

He also hinted that he is not the type of filmmaker who settles for something that is “cheap.”

"Will do my best. Yung costume let's see kung anong requirements ng may ari ng intellectual property. Also, masarap ang chippy although mas Tortillos akong tao,” the director expressed.

A film producer also took the chance to ask the multi-awarded director about the schedule of the taping for the iconic film.

Melai Entuna wrote, “May target shooting dates na po #Darna? Hahaha chos.”

Again, Director Jerrold did not hesitate to answer the important question and revealed that he is still reading the scripts of the movie.

He will also have to settle necessary things about his recent film, “Goyo” before he could decide on when to finally make the “Darna.”

"Haha. Chill lang po. Binabasa ko pa ang scripts (oo, plural). Aaralin pa ang diskarte. Tsaka madami pang Goyo things na aasikasuhin.,” he said.

In a previous article by KAMI, the reason behind the resignation of original “Darna” director Erik Matti was reported.

Born on May 30, 1977, Jerrold is a Filipino film director, producer, editor, screenwriter, and composer. He is best known for his biopic films including Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
