KAMI learned that the controversy sparked when the Miss Universe Organization allowed Miss Spain Angela Ponce to join in the prestigious pageant even if she is not a natural-born woman.
Gloria first opened up about the topic when she expressed that the most prestigious pageant for her is Miss Universe.
The former beauty queen reasoned out that the said contest has evolved through the years because its candidates can enhance any part of their bodies.
"In my own opinion, Miss Universe is the most prestigious, but I don’t know now,” she quipped.
"I don’t know, Miss Universe has taken a different path. You can make paretoke…" she added.
However, the first Filipina to win the Miss Universe crown uttered that she has nothing against transgender woman joining in the much-talked-about pageant.
In fact, Gloria reiterated that she likes it more that a representative of the LGBTQ+ community will set foot on the Miss Universe stage.

"Even yung mermaid.. mermaid… yung Super Sireyna? Sa malapit, ang gaganda nila," she concluded.
