President Rodrigo Duterte has confirmed that he went to Cardinal Santos Medical Center last October 3, Wednesday amid the rumors that went on due to his absence in an event in Malacañang.
KAMI has learned from Rappler that the doctors took samples from Duterte to conduct more tests. He then said that it was a follow-up for his recent endoscopy and colonoscopy.
“I was about to have a sana Cabinet meeting yesterday but 'yung reading ng aking ano somebody advised my doctor just to repeat and get some samples there, but dito uli so I stayed there for one hour sa Cardinal Santos," the President said before the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association in Malacañang.
Duterte has admitted even before that he has Barrett’s Esophagus, a gastroesophageal reflux disease in the stomach.
“Napabayaan ko kasi hindi ako naghinto nang inom. Kaya nga, wala na, ang pagsisisi, it always comes late. So it got worse," he said.
The President has stated that he does not know how he is physically. However, he said that in case he has cancer, he will let the public know about it.
“I don't know where I'm now physically but I have to wait for that. But I would tell you if it's cancer, it's cancer,” Duterte said.
“If it's 3rd stage, no more treatment. I will not prolong my agony in this office, or anywhere" he added.
After speculations of President Rodrigo Duterte being admitted in the hospital last October 3 for missing the event, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go had shut down these allegations.
“I assure you that I have no information that he did go to a hospital and I am given information whenever things like this happen,” said by Roque.
