- Actress Jasmin Curtis-Smith revealed why she rejected the offer of ABS-CBN over GMA
- She said she is not yet prepared for the kind of pacing that Kapamilya network has
- Jasmin, however, admitted that she enjoys guesting in the rival network of GMA
Former TV5 actress Jasmin Curtis-Smith promptly disclosed the reason why she preferred to be a Kapuso star rather than be an ABS-CBN talent.
KAMI learned that the promising celebrity did not renew her contract with TV5 and signed a new one in the GMA network.
Jasmin admitted that before the contract signing commenced, both the rival networks made different offers to win her signature.
The younger sister of Anne Curtis decided to ink a 2-year contract with the Kapuso channel on April 17, 2018.
When asked what made her decide to choose GMA over ABS-CBN, the actress explained that she consulted her manager and they agreed that Jasmin is more suited in the Kapuso network.
Despite not choosing to be a Kapamilya celebrity, she expressed that she is always happy whenever she does guestings on the other network.
“Of course… kami ni Mama Betchay ang nag-usap about it...yung kakayanan ko ngayon, pagkatao ko ngayon, yung mga projects na gusto ko kung sakali sa labas ng GMA or ABS-CBN,” she quipped.
"Kung saan ba mas papatok o mas babagay. Ang dami namin kinonsider na mga components. Ang ending, GMA ang pinag-decidan namin. I've always been happy naman whenever I do guestings and work with ABS-CBN,” she added.
Jasmin also reasoned out that she is still not familiar with the pacing in ABS-CBN and feared that she might not handle how to be a Kapamilya.
She even asked for the opinion of her friends and eventually realized that she is more comfortable with the culture of GMA.
"Feeling ko kasi kung sa kabila ako, baka hindi ko pa sila mahabol kung paano ang pacing. Kasi siguradong-sigurado na sila na ganito ang timpla. Pasok ka na lang,” she explained.
"Ako feeling ko, gusto ko yung alam na nila ang timpla nila pero willing pa rin silang umikot-ikot, maglaro ng unti. I feel base sa mga naririnig kong kuwento na as of now, hindi ko pa kaya na ratsada nila doon, iba rin, e. Iba yung culture dun,” she added.
In the end, the actress shared that network is not a big deal for her as long as she has works and projects to do.
"Wala na sa akin yun kung nasa TV5 ako or ABS-CBN or GMA. Basta may trabaho,” she stated.
In a previous article by KAMI, the new Kapuso celebrity and her sister Anne gave expensive gifts to their mom on Mother’s Day.
Jasmin, or Jasmine Casandra Ojales Curtis-Smith in real life, was born on April 6, 1994. She is a Filipino-Australian actress, dancer, endorser, and TV host who is known internationally for her performance in the film, “Transit.”
