- The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed a complaint against blogger Drew Olivar
- This was after he posted a ‘bomb scare’ on social media
- However, the Department of Justice has rejected the complaint due to insufficient documents
According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Department of Justice did not accept their complaint against blogger Drew Olivar for NCRPO has failed to complete all the necessary documents.
“Kailangan pa po naming kumpletuhin 'yung ebidensiya laban kay Drew [Olivar] para po tanggapin ng DOJ," according to Senior Inspector Myrna Diploma of NCRPO.
KAMI has learned that as per Diploma, they will refile to DOJ after coordinating with the Anti-Cybercrime Unit to gather all the evidences.
As previously reported by KAMI, Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed a case against Drew Olivar for alarming the public through a bomb scare he posted on social media.
Through a Facebook post, Olivar said, “Ay nakakatakot naman magrally sa Edsa, kasi may kumakalat na baka maulit daw ‘yung pagbomba kagaya ng Plaza Miranda! Kung ako sa inyo hindi na ako pupunta!”
The post violated the Presidential Decree 1727 which states that it is unlawful to disseminate “malicious” and “false” information on “any threat concerning bombs, explosives or any similar device or means of destruction.”
The penalty for committing such offense will be imprisonment up to five years and/or a fine of P40,000.
However, Olivar has made a public apology regarding the issue. He stated that he was just looking out for the people rallying along EDSA and he did not mean to alarm the public.
Drew Olivar is a pro-Duterte blogger who is great friends with Presidential Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson.
