In an assembly in Isabela last Tuesday, September 18, President Rodrigo Duterte has admitted one of his fears as he addressed Army Brig. Gen. Bartolome Bacarro, a recipient of Medal of Valor.
KAMI has learned that according to the President, “Basta mga Valor, sir, bilib — kasi sir, duwag ako. Takot ako mamatay,”
“Lahat ng matatapang, sir, idol ko. Congratulations, sir. I salute you!” the President added.
Bacarro is the commander of Army’s 502nd Infantry Brigade. At the same event, President Duterte greeted Bacarro for his birthday and even asked him to have coffee in the Palace one of these days.
As reported by Manila Bulletin, President Duterte has been so appreciative of the courage and bravery of the country’s soldiers.
He commended the 5th Infantry Division and said, “Because of your valiant efforts, we have convinced almost a hundred NPA surrenderors who decided to return to the fold of the law and we also successfully recovered 45 firearms.”
The President then added that he is positive that time will come, Philippines will all defeat those who threaten our country. He also showed his support to the soldiers and assured them that the administration will provide all of the necessary resources for them to have an effective performance.
