- Mendoza added that government exists because of their “efficiency” and “dignity”
It has been reported that former Commission on Audit (COA) Commissioner Heidi Mendoza called out President Rodrigo Duterte for saying negative comments against COA.
KAMI learned on Facebook that Mendoza shared her thoughts through a post. She stressed that they are, “A long standing, dignified institution whose men and women spent long hours working for its flag and our people,”
She also stated that COA is a “constitutional Commission”. Mendoza firmly said that, “Give us respect for we deserve it,”
She even added that the government exists due to their “efficiency” and “dignity”. Mendoza also stressed that they all abide to the code of conduct.
As previously reported by KAMI, President Duterte slammed COA and backed Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos for not allowing her to have a cash advance.
The President said, “Sino ang taga-COA dito? Ihulog mo sa hagdanan para hindi maka-report. Maniwala ka diyan COA na 'yan,”
However, as reminded by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the President did not mean any of this and the President’s concern was to those who need assistance after Bagyong Ompong lashed our country.
