It has been reported that a church has collapsed in Itogon, Benguet due to Typhoon Ompong’s heavy rains over the weekend.
KAMI has learned that on a Sunday, President Rodrigo Duterte was present in a press briefing in Tuguegarao to assess the damages Typhoon Ompong has brought to the country. The President even shared the story about the collapsed church in Barangay Ucab that has affected over 43 people.
According to the President, “There is an evolving story sa Itogon, Barangay Ucab... 43 persons doon, nag-collapse 'yung church.”
“Kaya nga ito eh, alam mo, sir, sa totoo lang, kung pinalitan niyo 'yung pari diyan, 'di magbagsak 'yan,” he added.
As reported by GMA News, the President even said cursed words to the priests and labelled them as “bobo”.
President Duterte has also assured that he will go visit the church today (Monday).
Benguet has been greatly affected by Typhoon Ompong and all the other provinces in Northern Luzon.
In a previous report by KAMI, President Duterte called the priests as “most hypocritical institution in the Philippines today” as they were involved in child abuse cases not just in the country but internationally as well.
