- Valerie Concepcion disclosed the parenting style that she is using for her daughter
- She said she wants the ‘barkada’ approach in disciplining her child
- This caused several negative reactions from netizens
Kapuso actress Valerie Concepcion revealed the parenting style that she is using in raising her daughter, Fiona.
KAMI learned that the Ika-5 Utos star is currently taking a “barkada” approach where she initiates and encourages deep conversation with her daughter.
She expressed that in this generation, getting mad at her child will not be as effective as that in the past years when it comes to parenting children.
"It's really important because iba yung generation before sa generation ngayon,” the actress pointed out.
Ngayon, pag pinapagalitan yung bata - feeling ko, in my own opinion - na parang magrerebelde sila or lalong titigas yung ulo,” she added.
Valerie also shared that the best approach that she thinks would bring positive effect to her daughter is to talk things over rather than to get mad always.
However, the actress cleared that she has nothing against those who have different parenting style because she believes there are various ways to discipline children.
"So more on dapat usap lang, yung mas magandang approach. With me, it works na ganun, na important yung rapport naming dalawa ng anak ko," she explained.
"I have nothing against dun sa iba naman kung paano nila dinidisiplina yung kids nila,” she added.
Because of this, netizens reacted negatively on the chosen parenting style of Valerie.
Some said that her “barkada” approach is also ineffective and will just cause trouble in disciplining her daughter.
“No, that’s not true.
In a previous article by KAMI, the former Mulawin versus Ravena star shared one thing that her daughter does that is unusual for a teenager.
