Veteran Director Brillante Mendoza had something to say on the new attitude that actor Baron Geisler showed him on the set.
KAMI learned that the award-winning director tapped Baron to play a role in his upcoming film, “Alpha: The Right to Kill.”
The actor and the said movie will represent the Philippines in the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain.
Brillante initially explained that he gave Baron another chance to be in a movie despite the issues and controversies that he faced.
The director proudly said that he never had an issue with the actor that is why he decided to include him in the film.
He lauded Baron for acting far from being a hard-headed celebrity and said that the actor just behaved during their scheduled tapings.
“Ever since wala kaming naging problema ni Baron. Basta nasa set ko, behaved siya. Umiinom siya pero behaved naman siya,” he quipped.
“Ang importante nagagawa ng ayos ang trabaho, nakakadeliver more than anything else,” he added.
The veteran filmmaker revealed that Baron told him that he is ready to settle in a life that is far from the usual Baron that everyone knows.
He also expressed that the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate treats him like a second parent and usually updates him through text messages.
“Sabi naman niya sa akin he’s trying his best na maayos ang buhay niya. Siyempre, alam naman niya at aware naman siya sa mga nangyayari sa buhay niya kaya inuupdate niya ko,” Brillante remarked.
“I’m like a second parent for him. From time to time nagtetext, nagme-message sa akin sa Facebook,” he added.
In trying to help the controversial actor, Brillante said he never fails to remind Baron to fix his life and change for the better.
He even threatened the actor that his talent will fade if he does not use it for good and in the right way.
“Palagi ko sinasabi sa kanya, ‘Walang makakapagayos ng buhay mo kundi ikaw lang,’” he stressed.
“At saka may hangganan kahit gaano ka kagaling, kalaki ang talent mo, ‘pag hindi mo ‘yan ginamit ng mabuti, mawawala ‘yan,” the director added.
In a previous article by KAMI, Baron made a plea through a video that he wants to have showbiz comeback.
Baron, or Baron Frederick von Geisler in real life, was born on June 5, 1982. He already won several awards including Best Actor in the 4th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in 2008.
