As the election looms, the COMELEC is taking steps to ensure the safety of the national canvassing centers for the elections. It has order the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to declare the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), which will be the COMELEC's headquarters during the elections, the House of Representatives in Batasan Hills, Quezon City, as well as Intramuros as strictly no-fly zones.

No drones, unidentified aerial vehicles (UAV), and rotary aircraft will be allowed to pass through these areas. All aerial vehicles who have no clearance in the area will not be allowed to fly through.

The no-fly zone will be strictly enforced. The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police will shoot down on sight all aerial vehicles that refuse to cooperate. The public is encouraged to report to the government all violators.
