Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV made a firm statement that he will not resist arrest and that he will not escape after the Proclamation No. 752 was signed by President Duterte, an order revoking his amnesty.

KAMI learned from Manila Bulletin that according to Trillanes, “I will not resist arrest, I will not escape,”

“Di ako magtatago definitely. My lawyers are exhausting all legal remedies. I will abide by the decision of the Senate leadership,” Trillanes added.

Trillanes even said that he made sure he fulfilled the requirements for the amnesty he was granted. He even referred to the administration’s move as “stupid”.

He reiterated that he complied with the requirements needed, “Bakit ako bibigyan ng amnesty kung di ako nag apply, that is a very very clear requirement.”

“Ito ay isang malaking kalokohan. Alam nyo. di naman ako bibigyan ng amnesty kung di ako nag-comply sa mga requirements. Sumumpa ako kay former Secretary of Defense Voltaire Gazmin at mapapatotohanan yan ng mga DND (Department of National Defense) officials,” he added.

Trillanes even questioned the arrest for its basis. He said, “So absolutely complied lahat yan. Yung mga kaso sa civilian courts na-dismiss siya. So ngayon, ano ngayun ang magiging basis ng pag aresto?”

Based on a recent report by ABS-CBN News, according to Senate President Tito Sotto, no arrest will happen as long as Sen. Trillanes is under the custody of Senate.

Sen. Trillanes said that the officers waiting for him outside the Senate office do not even have a warrant of arrest. Trillanes even compared the turnout of events to martial law.

In a previous report by KAMI, Manila Times published a signed Proclamation saying that Sen. Trillanes’ amnesty given by former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was invalid. President Duterte even ordered AFP and PNP to arrest Sen. Trillanes.
