Another gold medal for the Philippines! Skateboarder Margielyn Didal did not disappoint her fellow Filipinos.
KAMI learned from Rappler that Didal bagged the 4th gold medal for the Philippines on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Palembang Indonesia.
Didal dominated the women’s division of street skateboarding. She was able to ace 30.4 points. Meanwhile, Japan’s Isa Kaya scored 25 points and Indonesia’s Bunga Nyimas garnered 19.8 points.
As her first time in Asian Games, Didal went up until the quadrennial meet. The skater champ also competed in X Games in Minneapolis where she placed eighth out of the 12 contestants.
In a previous post by KAMI, athlete Hidilyn Diaz also won the first gold medal of the Philippines in the weightlifting division. Other Filipino gold medalists are Yuka Saso of golf and the women’s golf trio, Saso, Bianca Pagdanganan and Lois Kaye Go.
Philippines now ranks 16th in the medal tally and is currently in its best state for Asiad gold haul since 2006.
