Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza spoke up about the rising issue of her being called the “Primetime Princess” of GMA-7.

KAMI learned that the Inday Will Always Love You star is shy about the new title glued to her name.

The title was based on the performance of the said primetime series which continues to be the top-rating show of the Kapuso network.

"Nahihiya ako kasi parang kini-claim ko yun,” Barbie admitted.

“Pero kung yun po ang tingin nila sa akin, at kung sa tingin nila, e, deserving ako sa title na yun, hindi naman para itaboy ko pa,” she added.

The young actress also cleared that whether or not she is granted a title, she will still be very happy because of her career and the people around her.

"With or without title, masaya ako dahil kapag Barbie Forteza, they don’t treat me as just a teen star, they treat me as a young actress,” she remarked.

“I’m very happy with what’s happening sa television career ko, right now,” Barbie added.

The former Meant To Be star did not forget to thank those who believe that the new title suits her and her performance as an actress.

"I’m not claiming anything but I’m very happy kung yun ang tawag nila sa akin. Lahat naman tayo, nagtatrabaho para ma-acknowledge, ma-recognize,” the young actress shared.

"Pero iyang mga ganyang title, kung deserve ko man, maraming salamat,” she expressed.

The issue on the “Primetime Princess” claim started to become the talk of the town when some netizens disagree with the new title given to the Kapuso actress.

Other netizens claim that Barbie has not proven anything yet especially after her film, “Almost A Love Story,” was pulled out in cinemas after just two days.

However, many of her supporters believe she deserves the title because of the “high ratings” of Inday Will Always Love You.

In a previous article by KAMI, Barbie was given a sweet birthday surprise by her boyfriend, Jak Roberto.

Born on July 31, 1997, Barbie is a Filipina commercial model and actress who continues to rise to fame after starring in The Half Sisters, That's My Amboy, and Meant to Be.

In 2016, she was hailed as the Best Actress in the 36th Fantasporto International film Festival for the film, “Laut.”
