- The Social Weather Station (SWS) conducted a survey on the view of Filipinos regarding the National ID system
- This is after President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law the Philippine System Identification Act
- It appeared that majority of the respondents support the new ID system
In a recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS), it reflected how Filipinos view the newly-signed bill on National ID system.
Results show that 73% of Filipinos support the move to have one Identification Card for different transactions whether in the government or in private companies.
Moreover, 46% of the respondents “strongly” agreed on having a national ID while 27% just answered “agree.”
On the other hand, KAMI learned that only 18% of the respondents “disapprove” to the move and 7% said they have no idea about the matter.
When asked about the extent of help that the national ID system will bring to Filipinos, 32% said it will be a “very big help” while 28% stated that it is a “big help” to them.
Also, 26% of the respondents considered the move as a “moderate help” while 8% believed it brings “little help.”
In the security features, 60% of the surveyed individuals believed that the specs of the ID can ensure the protection of their private information.
