It is not a new occurrence for commuters and train passengers in the Philippines to experience vehicular malfunction and easy deterioration due to substandard materials used. Yesterday, an MRT train going to EDSA-Taft station from Boni Ave. surprised passengers with a rain shower in from its ceiling.
KAMI learned about the news when it broke out on social media, early in the morning because of concerned netizen who submitted the bizarre passenger experience via a video.
Inside the train car, it could be seen that the passengers on the left side of the car suffered from the gushing water the most.
Reportedly, yesterday, there was a heavy downpour that took place for almost an hour at the station of origin. As such, the train served as a catch basin for all the rain water.
Commuters inside can also be seen upset with what was happening as they could not believe what was happening before their eyes. Passengers seated by the window hold umbrellas on their laps so as to cover them from all the rain water falling down on them.
Additionally, netizens also said that MRT station staff frequently mopped and wiped the wet parts of the interior, especially the ones occupied by the passengers affected.
