The Miss International 2013 titleholder Bea Rose Santiago has been diagnosed with a chronic kidney disease. She updated her Instagram followers about her health through series of posts in her Instagram stories on August 4.
She experienced a severe migraine which prompted her to go to St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City to get checked.
Bea underwent a series of tests, which revealed something serious.
"Yes, I'm sick. Since I damaged my kidneys when I was younger. My kidneys are more sensitive than a normal later 20s healthy woman.
"I can't overdo things and I just found out. Came to the hospital with my severe migraines and we found out something potentially more dangerous.
She also shared her mixed feelings of thankfulness and scared.
"I'm thankful but at the same time really scared."
Bea also warned her Instagram followers about drinking pre-workout drinks.
"Guys, if you take pre-workout and other heavy workout, please be careful!
"Apparently there are many more like me. We damage our kidneys because of our gym life.
"Before you do or change your diet or drink something make sure you don't have bad health history problems!
"Always ask your doctors!"
Another Instagram story she uploaded showed the effects f spending three days in the hospital.
Bea Rose Monterde Santiago is a Filipino actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss International 2013 on December 17, 2013. She was a titleholder of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2011 before winning at Binibining Pilipinas.
