- Notwithstanding all the backlash she's received, Sondos Al Qattan is back again from the shadows after a short social media
- The makeup guru announced her celebration via a cake with big 3D numbers that read 2.4M
- The Kuwaiti social media star also re-promoted her social media accounts on her Instagram page as well as her new makeup tutorial in the same account
After weeks of facing backlash from netizens and fellow Gulf-based social media stars, militant OFW groups, and brands severing marketing ties with her, Sondos Al Qattan is back again and is ready to start over with her new makeup tutorials.
KAMI learned about her re-rise from the shadows of her social media break when she uploaded a celebration photo with a cake that reads 2.4M.
The locked in number to 2.4M followers on her Instagram account only meant that much more women and men might still believe in her upheld values and stood by her to support her advocacy against the Kuwait labor law.
A lot of netizens, mostly OFWs in the Middle East, condemned her for her complaints and tirades against the said labor regulation.
Al Qattan also expressed that her beliefs being attacked by foreign media was all just a black propaganda to take her down. Because of this, she vowed to have her followers boycott brands that have severed ties with her.
In an earlier report by KAMI, former Miss Lebanon had also spoken regarding the issue and said that she does not condone the idea of 'enslavement' in modern times, although would not partake in the widespread 'social media bullying' of the Sondos.
In a report by Arabian Business, Mishal Kanoo, chairman of the Kanoo Group, one of the Middle East's biggest shipping and forwarding companies and a family-owned conglomarate, expressed that Al Qattan has the 'free right' to voice out her opinions.
"This is her opinion. I don't support it, but she is fully within her right to have her opinion and she should have the free space to say it." He said in an interview with the media outlet.
The Kanoo Group chairman also advised Al Qattan on how to properly get her ideas across, especially via social media.
"We have an Arabic poem that says, ‘Your tongue is your horse. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. If you betray it, it will betray you’."
He ended by saying, "She just doesn’t get it. Just apologize for the stupid statements and try to be a better person. But no. she had to defend her position. When will she learn?"
