- Mocha Uson is playing a 'key' role in the upcoming movie 'Kaibigan'
- The movie stars Hollywood veteran Stephen Baldwin
- The Malacañan communications official expressed her deep gratitude to the production behind and is 100% willing to give her shot in the said movie
Mocha Uson, Malacañan's Presidential Communications Operations Office assistant secretary, has been tasked yet another challenging role to play. This time, it's not in the government but in the movie industry.
The Palace's communications official landed an important role in the upcoming movie 'Kaibigan', which will be directed by Cesar Montano, another Duterte appointee.
KAMI learned about the said casting when she was interviewed about her reaction and why she immediately accepted the journalist role in the movie.
"Na-invite po ako, na sumali po ako o maging kabahagi nitong 'Kaibigan' movie. Sino naman po ako para tumanggi? Maganda naman po 'yung mensahe at sinusuportahan po nitong pelikulang ito ang kampanya na protektahan ang mga kabataan laban sa masasamang bisyo katulad ng droga."
She also added, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, that she will not take part of the film's profits, as it is "pro bono." "Ay opo, wala pong bayad ito, pro bono po (libre po), dahil maganda po 'yung proyekto, positibo, [kaya'y] i-aalay po natin ang munting talento."
According to the film's producer, Tarney Perkins, Mocha will play a vital role in the movie. "She's doing what she really does best — reporting. She's actually a reporter in the movie, and she reports on goodness, good things that are happening the community."
Perkins also explain the relevance of the characters and the current status quo of the society in the movie. "You make the right choice, good things happen. You make the wrong choice, bad things happen. But if you fix it all, there's something called 'redemption,' and that's done through something like 'kaibigan,' friendship. That's really the story."
Alongside Uson are Stephen Baldwin, Hollywood veteran, playing a father's role who steers his son to the correct ways of life, Tarney's twin sons Christian and Jesse Perkins, Boots Anson-Roa, and Alvin Anson.
Mocha also expressed Sec. Martin Andanar's approval of her joining in the cast of the production.
"Opo, nagpaalam naman po ako kay Sec. Martin Andanar. Basta's legal ang lahat, wala naman pong problema 'yun."
Uson also witted, "mga ka-DDS!" She was asked what audience she will call and cater to in the movie, for instance.
Mocha Uson is one of Malacañan's key public officials in its reportage via social media. In the previous months, Uson had been involved in issues that were related to the proliferation of 'fake news', as well as her attacks on mass media regarding the same big issue circulating all over platforms in the country.
In an earlier report by KAMI, ABS-CBN comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz apprehended Uson for her 'bad attitude'.
