- In the latest headline today, the report says that in the "much-publicized" China International Import Expo event, the Philippines apparently has to deal with 2 booths only
- This news reportedly came out right after the country's new ally, China, supposedly promised for a spotlight for the country with 150 booths at the CIIE
- Apparently, this trade exposition is the first ever in China that will only showcase imported products for the Chinese market
According to the reports from various news outlets such as Manila Bulletin, Inquirer, and Philippine News Agency, the chairman emeritus of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Francis Chua said that the Philippines "pre-booked 150 booths in total through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)."
However, they found out later last Monday that there will only be 20 booths that can be given to the Philippines.
Now, KAMI learned further that on Wednesday, July 25, 2016, there were only 2 booths provided for the Philippines.
With this, the rest of the companies reportedly will have to use the common area of the event to display their products.
According to the chairman emeritus of PCCI:
“The reason given by the expo organizers is that the expo has been overbooked."
The China International Import Expo is going to happen in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 of this year.
This expo is reportedly intended for sellers or exporters from across the globe where they can showcase their products to be sold at the expo for the Chinese buyers to avail.
