Director Chito Roño, the talent manager of Vhong Navarro, has opened up about the state of mind of the actor-host after the complaints filed against him by Deniece Cornejo were junked by the Department of Justice.
KAMI learned that Vhong is still feeling scared to go out even after proving his innocence.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Chito said that they are still hearing threats to Vhong’s safety that are related to the 2014 incident with Deniece, Cedric Lee and others.
This is what the director has to say when asked if Vhong has moved on from the incident:
“Hindi pa rin. Takot pa rin siyang lumabas kasi, alam mo naman, kung may anu-ano pa kaming naririnig na [threats].
"Alam naman namin yung mga track record, yung mga nang-ano sa kanya, taga-Samar pa nga yung isa na nambugbog sa kanya, na mga goons talaga. So, natakot lang kami,” Chito explained.
In an earlier report by KAMI, the DOJ has completely junked the cases filed by Deniece against Vhong.
Vhong is one of the pioneer hosts of the Kapamilya program “It’s Showtime,” along with Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and Jhong Hilario.
He has two sons – Frederick and Isaiah. His current partner is ABS-CBN writer Tanya Bautista.
