Famous beauty brands terminate collabs with Sondos Alqattan due to 'reprehensible behavior' toward domestic helpers

Past all the backlash drawn by Sondos Alqattan's commentaries on how Kuwaiti employers should treat Filipino domestic helpers, the famous Kuwaiti beauty vlogger remained steadfast with her arguments against the pivotal May 11 Kuwait-Philippines agreement.

Although unrelenting with her beliefs, huge makeup brands made the first steps to end relationships with Alqattan.

KAMI learned about these initiatives when Chelsea Beautique London released a powerful statement on Twitter feeling remorseful for what Sondos has been upholding in relation to how domestic helpers should be treated.

In an earlier report by KAMI, Sondos shared her sentiments as a Kuwaiti employer, which she believes is also shared by fellow Kuwaiti household owners.

Netizens have their positive reactions toward Chelsea Boutique's action to terminate Alqattan:

Beauty products market giant Max Factor also expressed their regret and disappointment over Alqattan's online behavior that made all the negative buzz on social media.

In a report by Gulf News, "Max Factor Arabia is taking this incident very seriously and have immediately suspended all collaborations with Sondos."

According to them, "Max Factor Arabia was shocked by the comments made regarding the new labor law in Kuwait."

As well, Gulf News received an email response from M. Micallef Parfums, a French perfume brand endorsed by the beauty guru, gave their official action-statement regarding Alqattan's disposition.

"We are absolutely shocked by the behaviour of Sondos Alqattan, and we deeply regret the relationship with her, which we are terminating with immediate effect."

Nonetheless, other international brands all covered by Alqattan in her channels have neither made nor released any official statement yet. These brands are MAC Cosmetics, Shiseido, Etude House, and Anastasia Beverly Hills, Al Jazeera Perfumes, Beauty Pop DXB, Yara Jewelry, the Cambridge Weight Plan, and online store Boutiqaat.
