Pinoy netizens applaud Filipina for securing a driver’s license in Saudi Arabia

- The government of Saudi Arabia lifted the ban on women driving in the country

- For this reason, a Filipina was able to secure a driver’s license in Riyadh and even shared her driving video

Filipino netizens got emotional after learning about a Filipina who secured a license to drive in Saudi Arabia, after its government lifted the ban on women driving in the country.

KAMI learned that the Pinay is Graynne Angel Panitan from Dagupan City.

A netizen named Ariel Tanghal shared a video of Graynne driving a car in Riyadh. According to Ariel, Graynne might be the first Pinay to receive a driver’s license in the country.

“Ms. Graynne Angel Panitan, of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines was the first recorded filipina ever to drive around Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), after lifting of the driving ban announced last September 2017, and took effect last June 2018 as part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's programme to modernise some aspects of Saudi society,” Ariel wrote.

As of this writing, this video has garnered over 35,000 views on Facebook:

"Masayang-masaya ang pakiramdam na nakakuha na ako ng Saudi license. Sobrang saya po ang pakiramdam and excited at the same time," Graynne said in an interview GMA News.
