- Saab Magalona had her baby boy Pancho baptized by a Catholic priest
- She posted on social media photos from the event
- Her husband Jim Bacarro explained that this is already Pancho’s second baptism
Saab Magalona’s miracle baby boy Pancho was finally baptized by a Catholic priest on Saturday, July 14.
KAMI learned that Saab posted a couple of photos from the event on social media.
She also wrote about the challenges she faced in giving birth to Pancho, who was taken to the NICU due to his critical condition and the surgery he had to undergo.
Pancho’s twin sister passed away.
"When I was pregnant with my twins at 30 weeks 6 days, I had to undergo an emergency c-section because our baby girl’s heartbeat had stopped. Our baby boy survived but I did not see him for 6 days bec I was in and out of the ICU myself (it’s a long story). I felt so many emotions when I was told I could leave my room to see my child. Prior to that, all I could do was ask Jim to show me videos and photos of him. It was a dark time for me because without seeing or touching our boy, all I could focus on was the loss of our daughter.
"Honestly, at the time, I just kept thinking our baby boy would not make it either especially with the initial tests they did on him. It was Valentine’s Day when I was finally cleared to visit him and I cried. I was so happy but I was also so scared. I washed my face, put on some lip and cheek tint and brushed my hair. It was like a first date and I wanted to look pretty for my son. As I saw his sweet tiny body in his bed, barely moving, I was overjoyed. Jim told me he wasn’t moving at all during the first few days so his tiny movements were more than enough for us. It dawned on me that aside from Valentine’s Day, it was also Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Somehow, I felt God was telling me to keep praying and not to lose faith.
"Today, Pancho will be baptized and I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come as a family. I know Luna will also be with us as we celebrate this milestone,” Saab said, according to PUSH.
Her husband, Jim Bacarro, also explained that this is already the second baptism of the child.
“Technically, this was Pancho’s 2nd baptism. When he was still in the ICU, we were urged to have a priest come and baptize him ‘just in case.’ Since Saab was also confined in the ICU, she couldn’t be there. And because no priest was available, a very young brother training to be a priest came and performed the ritual. Brother Franz was nervously shaking as he prayed over Pancho who was still hooked up to all those machines. Although it was a great moment, we didn’t get to share it with Saab. So yesterday was a monumental day for our family. It wasn’t only Saab that was finally able to join us but also all the other people who have given our little family their love and support. Special shoutout to ninang @miabacarro for flying in just for the event,” Jim wrote.
In a previous report by KAMI, Saab ranted about the agency of her baby’s previous nanny.
Saab and Jim got married on January 24, 2015. They have known each other for 10 years before getting married. She announced her pregnancy last September 2017 and revealed the gender of her twins on November 23, 2017. However, on February 8, they lost their baby girl.
Saab revealed her baby girl's name, Luna Isabel Magalona Bacarro, through an Instagram post on March 29. She calls her their "guardian angel."
