- Terrence Romeo was reportedly involved in a fistfight outside a bar in QC
- The chaos supposedly started when a fan tried to get a picture with the athlete
- The Gilas star was then taken to the police station after the fight
Terrence Romeo got into trouble again just a week after the ugly brawl with players of the Australian basketball team.
KAMI learned that the basketball star got involved in a fistfight outside a bar called Guilly’s in Quezon City.
According to Rappler and dzBB, the fistfight started when a fan tried to take a picture with Terrence.
The athlete was then taken to the police station.
However, he was released later after a member of the group that Terrence had a skirmish with said that everything has been settled already.
"Nag-usap na kami ni Terrence sa loob,” the man said at the QCPD.
While being mobbed by the media outside the police station, Terrence urged them to check the CCTV – implying that he did not cause the fistfight.
"Eto lang po sasasabihin ko: check niyo lang yung CCTV. Pagkatapos niyo i-check yung CCTV sa Guilly's, tsaka niyo ako balikan," he advised.
The infamous brawl between Gilas Pilipinas and Autralian Boomers occurred during the third quarter of the game, when Australia was leading by 31 points, as reported earlier in KAMI.
When Australia’s Daniel Kickert had a physical altercation with Roger Pogoy, the other Gilas players tried to defend their teammate.
There are speculations that the Gilas team might be suspended by FIBA due to the unfortunate incident.
