The NBA already announced the MVP awardee and other winners for the 2017-2018 season. The NBA Awards honors the players who deserve coveted titles such as Most Valuable Players, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and more. Kia presented the awards night at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, with Anthony Anderson who hosted the event.
The most significant award for the annual NBA Awards is the Most Valuable Player, and James Harden of Houston Rockets won the prize who beat LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Ben Simmons of Philadelphia 76ers bagged the Rookie of the Year, Lou Williams of L.A. Clippers won the NBA Sixth Man Award, NBA Most Improved Player is Victor Oladipo of Indiana Pacers, the Coach of the Year is Dwane Casey of Toronto Raptors, and Rudy Gobert of Jazz is the Defensive Player of the Year.
Aside from the six awards from Kia, other awards were also presented. LeBron James won the titles Play of the Year, Clutch Shot of the Year, and Assist of the Year. The Best Style was given to Russell Westbrook, Dunk of the Year to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Block of the Year to Anthony Davis, and Handle of the Year to Kyrie Irving.
The All-NBA First Team, NBA All-Rookie Team, and NBA All-Defensive Team were also recognized and selected by 100 international broadcasters and sportswriters.
Also, during the award's night, Dikembe Mutombo was the recipient of the Sager Strong Award and delivered an inspiring speech.
