It is not uncommon for people to take a break from their line of work for different reasons like caring for a child, getting medical treatment, getting married, pursuing education or going on a vacation.

KAMI learned that there are several celebrities who have decided to take a leave of absence from Philippine showbiz.

In a feature from GMA Entertainment, we learned that they also have a variety of reasons for the temporary break from the entertainment industry.

Kylie Padilla

Kylie left “Encatadia” in 2016 when she got pregnant with the child of her boyfriend Aljur Abrenica. She gave birth to baby Alas last year.

She has made a triumphant return to showbiz by winning the first episode of “Lip Sync Battle.”

Megan Young

Megan left showbiz for a while in order to focus on her preparation for Binibining Pilipinas before going on to become Miss World 2013.

She came back to showbiz as the lead star of the teleserye “MariMar.”

Sarah Lahbati

Sarah stunned the entertainment industry by suddenly going to Switzerland in 2014. It was later revealed that she gave birth there to baby Zion, the son of Richard Gutierrez.

The actress is now a Kapamilya star.

Angel Locsin

After her contract with GMA expired, Angel went to London for four months to study about fashion design. When she came back to the country, she transferred to ABS-CBN.

Kris Aquino

Kris took a break from showbiz and decided to withhold from resigning with ABS-CBN due to reported death threats from terrorists.

When she tried to come back, she learned that there was no longer any time slot for her show. This inspired her to make it on her own as a social media star.

Charlotte and Charice Hermoso

The twins, known as the daughters of Lumen in the Surf commercials, left showbiz to focus on their studies.

They are now back and are cast members on 'Inday Will Always Love You.'

Makisig Morales

Super Inggo went to Australia since his father was hired for a job there.

He is now back in the Philippines as a co-star on the primetime series “Bagani.”
