Presidential aspirant Grace Poe responds to President Benigno Aquino III's criticisms over her defense policy involving the China disputes.
Poe says that she is not hurt at the president's continual criticisms towards her proposed policies once she becomes president. In an interview in Angeles City, she said that she still holds the president at a hight regard. She said:
(Yes I continue to respect him but for me, the problem of our country which is poverty is my main focus, such as programs for the farmers, programs for the education of our children whose parents could not bring them to school. That's just my take.)
(If they want to choose which issue they want to attack, maybe that's part of their strategy but for me, what I'm focusing on are the solutions to our problems, such as poverty and the lack of jobs, which is one of our biggest problems.)
On Wednesday, President Aquino criticized Grace Poe's proposal of acquiring surface-to-air missiles to improve the country’s air defense capabilities.
(There was a question that a candidate talked about recently... She said that we would not be belittled by the country we are clashing with in the West Philippine Sea if we had surface-to-air missiles. But it is as if this candidate has studied everything about this aspect.)
