On Mother’s Day, Gary Valenciano gave an update on his condition after undergoing an open heart surgery to save his life.

KAMI learned that Gary was able to go home on the special day.

However, he explained on Instagram that he still has a lot of healing to do.

"Hi everyone! Time to go home, time to press the reset button—not reset, but the pause button para tumuloy ulit.

"Just need to recuperate quite a bit. Medyo mahirap pa rin to swallow, but getting better... all the time.

"And getting stronger every day, so... God bless you, give glory to Lord…

"And Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there. A great gift, 'no? I'm coming home on Mother's Day! Awww... Love you guys! See ya," Gary said, as quoted by PEP.ph.

Aside from his heart problem, Gary also has type 1 diabetes.

He has three children with Angeli – Paolo, Gab Valenciano and Kiana Valenciano.

Gary and his wife will celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary this year.
